Here is the place I would normally list my credentials

Meet Kelsey.

…I think it is instead a great place to tell you that I’ve made some really big mistakes, financially.

In our first decade of marriage, my husband and I made mistakes that cost us roughly $270,000. Ouch. Now if I could rewind and teach young us what I now know, helping us avoid the mistakes, and instead encouraging us to invest the money—it could have made us around $2.7 million after 30 years. Very ouch. I can’t help but think of what we could have done with that extra $2.7million…

If only I’d have known.

I can’t rewind time and talk to young Kelsey, but I can bring you and the young people in your life my experience and expertise, garnered from over a decade in real estate investing, alongside a background in qualitative research, design and release of global adolescent personal finance e-learning modules, trauma care, youth work and both non-profit and for-profit strategic leadership. Oh, and a ravenous appetite for economics and personal finance knowledge that is never, ever quenched. Some would call it passion.

But if you do want to see my credentials …

“Kelsey goes beyond just giving financial advice. She listened, guided, and tailored everything to our unique situation. We’ve gained clarity, confidence, and a solid plan for our finances. She helped us realign our budget to better reflect our goals and desires. We would recommend Kelsey’s financial coaching to anyone!”

What’s with the name?

Dillon Dollars (DD) first emerged in 2020 as a way for me to teach my kids about money and keep them busy during COVID. It was a simple family currency where they could earn DDs for extra chores and redeem them for prizes or invest them for dividends. It worked brilliantly and led me to expand the concept into the Dillon Dollar Club, a play-off of the Million Dollar Club (where candidates must have a net worth of at least a million dollars to join). The Dillon Dollar Club, on the other hand, is a club that anyone can join if they are willing to put in the time and effort to learn, design, and set their financial strategy in motion. It is focused on behavior, the development of a new mindset, and the ability to act on that mindset, rather than a set standard, such as net worth.
